The 300 000-hectare Masai Mara ecosystem is a place of timeless views, iconic wildlife, passing migration wonders and Maasai custodians. Yet even within this region, the environment, wildlife and rural communities lie at the sharp end of flood and drought seasonal variances compounded by climate change. Wild Impact has worked with three communities situated along the western boundary of this iconic ecosystem since 2001, namely the Iltolish, Saparingo and Emurutoto communities.
It is our privilege to provide significant support for the development of the Emurutoto Clinic, and Iltolish, Saparingo and Emurutoto Primary Schools. We are also supporting community efforts to restore and conserve Nyekweri Forest and are about to support the development of a new primary school in the Koibeiyot community.
