The iSimangaliso World Heritage Area was South Africa’s first area to be inscribed UNESCO, in 1999. Recognised for its unique cultural and natural landscapes, the extended iSimangaliso – Maputo area is home to over 5 000 species. Wild Impact works with 5 traditional communities situated around the uMkhuze and Munywana conservation areas, actively supporting the development of residents in 58 local villages.
This is where our journey began in 1992. It has been our privilege to support over 200 education and health projects, assist hundreds of school leavers with the opportunity of higher education, provide thousands of scholars with an environmental education experience, and support food security through our Climate Resilient Communities programme.
