Wild Impact in partnership with &Beyond started working with the Mayoka Community in 2007. Mayoka, a rural community in Tanzania’s Babati District near the Lake Manyara National Park, has over 8,000 residents. Formal employment opportunities are very limited, and like most of rural Tanzania, the community is dependent on subsistence farming and raising livestock.
Wild Impact’s collaboration with the community has enabled the development of the Mayoka Clinic which services the communities of Moya and Mayoka, providing treatment to an average of 400 patients per week. Another focus has been the Mayoka Primary School, expanding the potential for quality education and building a future where opportunities align with environmental stewardship.
