Wild Impact in partnership with &Beyond started working with the Moya Community in 2007. Moya, a rural community in Tanzania’s Babati District near the Lake Manyara National Park, has approximately 2,600 residents. Formal employment opportunities are very limited, and like most of rural Tanzania, the community is dependent on subsistence farming and raising livestock.
Wild Impact’s collaboration with the community, regional government and district stakeholders has focused on the development of the Moya Primary School, expanding the potential for quality education, and building a future in which conservation underlines meaningful community benefits.
