Located in Areagh B community in South Africa, the day care plays a crucial role in the early education of the children in the area. Alicecourt Day Care is part of the Climate Resilient Communities program, supported by Wild Impact. Through this initiative, Wild Impact has established 62 food gardens across the Greater Kruger area at schools, creches, clinics, and home-based care centers where we have existing relationships. To support these gardens, Wild Impact employs three stewards (previously unemployed community members) at each site for 12 months. These stewards are responsible for establishing, managing, maintaining, and growing vegetables, which helps strengthen the site’s ability to provide a nutritious meal to its beneficiaries once a day.
