This programme recognises that impoverished rural communities live at the “coal face” of climate change, being directly affected by increased variability in temperature and rainfall. It has a particular focus on food and water security and is currently building momentum. Wild Impact and &Beyond are focused on supporting the establishment of food gardens across all the Early Childhood Development, Home Based Care and Disability centers currently being assisted. Recent developments include the extension of this initiative to those pimary and secondary Schools supported through our Echo Environmental Education programme.
Our Vision 2030 target is that 100% of our partner community schools have food gardens with 80% of their learners receiving a nutritionally certified meal every day.
