Ganyani Day Care Centre is situated in Hluvukani, a rural village in the Mnisi Tribal Authority. Established in 1999 with funding from the National Development Agency, Ganyani Day Care Centre has two small classrooms, a single pit toilet, and a basic kitchen, all of which are inadequate for the 81 enrolled children. The overcrowded conditions, lack of proper sanitation, and non-functional borehole fall short of the Department of Social Development’s standards for early childhood development facilities. Recognising these challenges, Wild Impact initiated fundraising efforts to upgrade the centre’s infrastructure to comply with departmental standards.
