Tshembhekani Crèche, established in 2009, is located in Islington, a community in South Africa. The facility comprises a lack of dedicated classrooms, resource limitations, inadequate kitchen facilities, no perimeter, and no play area. Currently, the crèche enrolls 75 children, cared for by six dedicated individuals. The existing infrastructure does not meet the Department of Social Development’s standards, which has resulted in the withdrawal of government funding. To address these deficiencies, Wild Impact has been raising funds to renovate and upgrade the facilities. Planned improvements include constructing double classrooms and fencing. These enhancements aim to provide a safe and conducive learning environment, enabling the crèche to regain government support and continue serving the community effectively.
