Wild impact in partnership with &Beyond started working with the Saparingo Community in 2014. This community of 1,000 residents lies close to the &Beyond lodges of Kichwa Temba and Bateleur Camp, and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. While pastoralism remains central to their livelihood, many are employed in ecotourism and conservation to support sustainable income and preserve natural resources.
Limited access to educational and health resources are significant challenges for this remote community. The expansion and development of Saparingo Primary School has been a key Wild Impact project in collaboration with the community. Other initiatives with this partner community are supporting the restoration and conservation of the Nyekweri Forest, underlining the meaningful community benefits enabled by conservation.
