In 2009, Wild Impact started working with the Mnisi Tribal Authority leadership and respective communities, situated in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. Significant regional challenges include s a lack of clinics, sanitation, and reliable water access. With widespread poverty and high unemployment, many households are led by women or elderly members, as most young adults migrate to cities for employment. Illiteracy is common, limiting employment opportunities. Since 2009, Wild Impact has partnered with the Hluvukani, Welverdiend, Gottenburg, Dumphries, Islington, Clare, Thlavekisa, and Eglington C villages to improve education facilities, support tertiary bursary opportunities and foster local entrepreneurship.
